Kevin Madders is an internationally acknowledged authority on the twin fields of space law and space policy. Continuously active in these areas for over 30 years, he is Managing Partner of the space and ICT consultancy Systemics Network International acting as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team that includes leading engineers and managers from the space and telecommunications sectors and experts in both civil and military applications. Earlier, he was counsel at the European Space Agency (ESA). His book published by Cambridge University Press, A New Force at a New Frontier, on Europe’s space sector, policies and law, is a reference source for space professionals. Dr Madders teaches at masters level on space policy and law at KU Leuven, Belgium, and on information society law at King’s College London. He is on the faculty of the London Institute for Space Policy and Law among other academic affiliations. Systemics Network International has advised ESA, the European Commission and other governmental and private entities on space law and policy and information society topics and has cooperated with Informa in developing content for this Foundation Certificate under Dr Madders’ direction.
