The role of diplomacy in international security cannot be overstated, and a strong understanding of global governance and international affairs is increasingly vital for security professionals. With new resolutions adopted by United Nations members to provide and share tools used to detect terrorism, the rise of globalisation creates a need for an international diplomatic approach to security.
Our postgraduate course in Diplomacy and Security Studies is designed to equip students with an industry-specific toolkit of international relations and foreign policy, as applicable to security and counter-terrorism. This unique course allows you to apply diplomatic theory to current issues in global crime and gives you a practical toolkit to approach real world scenarios. The course is available at Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, and Master of Science level. Those studying the PGCert will take the first three modules, whereas PGDip students will take the first six modules. Those choosing to study the course at MSc level have the opportunity to complete a dissertation on a topic of interest, allowing students to engage in an industry-focused research project to apply their knowledge and skills to their own career aspirations.
