Amanda Akhtar is a Senior Lecturer in the Law School and gained her LLB (Hons) (Leicester) in 1996, and her LLM with distinction, in Human Rights and Civil Liberties Law (Leicester) in 1997. Amanda teaches on the ‘Freedom of Religion and the Rights of Minorities in International Law’ on this programme. Amanda is also responsible for the ‘Civil Liberties in the Workplace’ and ‘Aspects of Discrimination in Business’ modules on the other LLM pathways. She has worked at De Montfort University since 1998. Her research interests centre around religion and law, with a particular focus on religious discrimination.

Dr Andy Noble is currently a Senior Lecturer in Employment Law in the Faculty of Business & Law, Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, UK, where he is also the Course Leader for Postgraduate HRM students. After graduating with a LLB degree from the University of Sheffield, Andy practiced as a litigation solicitor in the UK for many years, before returning to academia to undertake a PhD (Law) at the University of Birmingham. Andy now has 14 years’ experience in teaching a range of legal topics to students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Andy pursues research interests in all aspects of employment law and legal education, and regularly contributes papers on these research topics to conferences and journals
