Meet the experts

Dr Bournakis obtained a PhD in Economics from the University of Kent after completing an MA in Economics and Econometrics at the University of Manchester. His research interests lie within a broad area of Applied Economics, with particular reference to International Trade, Productivity Convergence and Industrial Organisation. He has also taught Maritime Economics in the MBA in Shipping and Logistics, he is currently the Programme Leader for the Distance Learning MBA in Middlesex University Business School.

Anna is currently Dean and Pro Vice Chancellor of Middlesex University Business School. She has worked with the strategic development of organisations and their management teams for more than 25 years. Her areas of specialism are organisational behaviour, managing people, and learning and development with a particular emphasis on managing and developing people in the virtual organisation. She has extensive research experience in survey design and data analysis at organisational, national and international levels.

Chari is a Chemical Engineering graduate with a PhD on the benefits of Enterprise Systems on Mid-Sized Manufacturing Businesses . He teaches Project Management, Sourcing and Procurement, and Services Operations Management. Prior to joining Middlesex University, he wor ked at the University of Bolton and was actively involved in the research, enterprise and teaching activities. He has delivered various regional development projects aimed at supporting small and medium sized businesses in improving business performance. In addition to being the Programme Leader for this course, he is a course leader for the Supply Chain Management programme. He has lectured globally on supply chains, procuerment, operations management and enterprise systems to supply chain professionals from diverse industry segments including oil and gas.

Dr Nathalie van Meurs is a senior lecturer in Management Perspectives and Managing in a Globalised World as well as being the Programme Leader for BA International Business. The core focus of her research is the predictive validity of cultural values in relation to management behaviour, whether at governmental, organisational or individual level, in particular the hybridisation of our environment and identities and how this impacts on work and general life. Publications have been on organisational justice; person-organisation fit; communication and negotiation; and distributive leadership. She is recognised for her expertise and experience in: cross-cultural management; social psychology; management perspectives; research methods (quantitative, survey); and critical thinking and evidence-based management. Previously, she worked for Shell International and Randstad.
